Anambra State Tippers Association, ASTA, has agreed to partner the state government in the evacuation of wastes at Okpoko, Ogbaru Council Area.
This agreement was reached when the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo met with officials of the association at the Deputy Governor’s Office, Government House Awka.
Government House Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that While addressing the team, led by their chairman, Prince Augustine Akaigwe, Governor Soludo, represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while reaffirming that cleanliness is next to godliness, said government decided to embark on the exercise as a way of tackling environmental challenges faced by residence of the area.
He solicited for synergy between the government and the Anambra State Tippers Association, for easy accomplishment of the project.
The governor reassured that his government will fulfill its campaign promises of positive transformation of the state.
In a remark, the leader of the team, Prince Akaigwe, who spoke through one of the executive members, Comrade Ogechukwu Nduzie, commended Professor Soludo led administration on the initiative which he described as unique, and promised that the association will contribute its quota to ensure that the vision is realized.
