The remains of Late Chief Nelson Ifeanyi Obinyeluaku, have been buried in his hometown Amaeze village Oraukwu, Idemili North council area.
Chief Obinyeluaku, a retired Assistant Comptroller of Customs and popularly known as Odunze, died at the age of eighty-six.
The burial ceremony attracted family members, clergymen, Oraukwu Anglican Community, friends and well-wishers.
In his sermon, the retired Anglican Bishop of Isiukwuato and Umunnoechi Diocese, Right Reverend Sam Chukwuka, said the real death is when people end up in hellfire when they die stressing the need for people to receive Jesus Christ into their lives to avoid eternal damnation.
The Bishop lamented the watery sermons preached in some of today’s churches, noting that the number of the clergymen that attend one’s burial is not a passport to heaven but one’s actions on earth.
In their separate remarks, the first son, Mr Nnaemeka and the last son, Mr Ifeanyi Obinyeluaku, of the Anambra Broadcasting Service said, their father was a peace-loving man given to hospitality and selflessness.
They also appreciated those who identified with them in their moment of grief praying for divine support to them in their time of need.
The daughters-in-law, Mrs Adamma and Mrs Nkiruka Obinyeluaku, pointed out how the deceased took them as his own daughters and treated them equally.
A relative and a friend of the deceased, Bishop Victor Mbanisi and Reverend Christian Anyachebelu of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Umuokpu, Awka, spoke highly of the deceased and noted that he died as a child of God which is the most important thing in life.
Queen Anigbogu reports that offertory, special prayers for the family, interment and condolence visits featured at the ceremony.
