The Anambra state Head of Service, Barr. Mrs. Okwy Theodora Igwegbe mni had charged the Civil Servants of Anambra state for Productivity in service as she outlines the vision of the new governor of Anambra state.
The charge which came during a meeting held at the Conference Hall of the office of the Head of Service at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat Complex, Awka on March 22, witnessed a huge turnout of Civil Servants who seemed receptive to the new order.
The Head of Service Barr., Igwegbe in her remark charged the Civil Servants to remain committed to their duties as the new administration promises a disruptive change which would usher in better and prosperous days in Anambra.
The Civil Service boss drew the attention of the workers to the 50 years development plan of the Soludo’s administration where service is transformational based and not transactional.
She noted that the Civil Servants must be willing to accept the changes which must inevitably take place beginning from the transition away from analogue system of service to digital system while calling all to ensure that they become computer savvy.
Barr. Igwegbe, made the workers know that there would be checks and balances, transparency in service and good reward system based on merit.
“Workers from hence forth would have their Apraisal forms filled quarterly so their performance could be ascertained fairly; this would then speak volumes during promotions” she said.
The foremost Civil Servant also advised the Civil Servants to get personal score cards where they could assess themselves to know if they are being productive or otherwise.
Igwegbe then assured the workers the resolve of the present administration to work with the Civil Servants and the Gov. Charles Soludo’s willingness to look into the welfare of workers and also to improve their working environment.
The HOS, once again hinted on the issue of absenteeism and late coming, stressing the message the governor had passed to them during his maiden meeting with the Permanent Secretaries, where he noted that he would always carry out spot checks himself from time to time.
She then advised the Civil Servants to welcome with open arms this wind of productive change which would kick out mediocrity and restore us to our true reality as the light of the nation.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Public Service Office (PSO) Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Adebayo Ojeyinka, thanked the HOS for communicating to the workers the expectation and plans of the governor for the Civil Service.
Mr. Ojeyinka then promised in unison with the workers present to work effectively with her in the actualization of the vision of His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
