Staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, has organized a send-off party in honour of  former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Establishment Dr Uche Nworah.
Dr Nworah was appointed the MD/CEO by former Governor Willie Obiano in July, 2014, and served nearly eight years before formally exiting office on March 16, 2022.
Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe reports that when it was time for testimonials, many people  took turns to talk about their relationships with Dr Nworah, and how the he either made them better at their job, or motivated them to near perfection.
One after another, members of staff of ABS, including Directors of different departments, program managers, security men and even those from outside the organization, told about their encounter with Dr Nworah, how he had touched their lives and the changes that he brought to the ABS in particular.
The was concensus that the immediate-past ABS chief laid a unique legacy, adopted a different kind of relationship with people of all ages, and made significant impact on the lives of so many people.
The chairman of the occasion, an aspirant in last year’s Anambra governorship election and convener of ‘Ogbako Ummuna’, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, in his speech, said that Dr Nworah redefined broadcasting in Anambra State by combining experience with vigour, noting that though ABS is primarily the mouthpiece of the state government, Dr Nworah accommodated all opinions.
The immediate-past Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisment Agency, ANSAA, Chief Jude Emecheta, and the President General of Abacha town union, Dr Ifeanyi Okeke, in their remarks, said that Dr Nworah practised an open-minded way of life, without compromising his work standards, standing out as one of the best heads of parastatals during former Governor Obiano’s time in office.
For the Acting Managing Director of ABS, Mr Gab Okpalaeze, and a former Managing Director of organization, Sir Amobi Adirika, Dr Nworah is a mentor to so many young people, not just for his unique work pattern, but his mindset of service, passion for his job and the ability to pick out talents, mould attitudes, and accommodate all views.
Addressing the gathering, the immediate-past ABS boss, Dr Nworah, explained that his philosophy of work is to always give his best, irrespective of the benefits, stating that though the testimonies were endless, he was only a vessel used by God to awaken the passion and potential in  ABS staff.
He implored , the new government  to give critical attention to ABS, and urged staff of the organization to give strong support to its present leadership.
Management and staff of the ABS, friends and associates of Dr Nworah, were all present at the event.
Dr Nworah was later presented with a gift by ABS, while notable guests were presented with awards of merit for being good friends with the organization.
 The event featured musical entertainment.
