In order to actualize its target of restoring clean and healthy environment in Onitsha North and South, Ogbaru and Idemili North, the three-day waste evacuation and drainage desilting exercise in the areas has been extended till the project is completed by the Anambra State Government.
The Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim who is in charge of the exercise also monitored the exercise at Uga junction, Ogbo-tools and Ogbo-Ogwu Bridge Head axis of Onitsha, on the fourth day of the sanitation exercise.
Meanwhile, our Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that some parts of Onitsha, including Ochanja Roundabout, Queen of Rosary College Oguta Road Onitsha axis, Okosi by new cemetery road, among others are now wearing a new look, as waste in the areas have been evacuated.
A trader at Ogbo-tools Bridge Head, Mr. Ferdinand Anozie thanked Governor Soludo for the waste evacuation project, saying that people selling in the area can now breathe in fresh air and comfortably do their businesses.
