Tomorrow, Thursday, April 7, 2022, all roads will lead to the family of Chief Sir Anthony O. Okoye (Chukwukadibia), Knight of Saint John International at Amorji Village, Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, for the burial ceremony of Lady Professor Justina Nneka Okoye, Nee Ezeani, whose sad and glorious departure occurred on February 9, 2022.

The late Professor Okoye was an accomplished academic, a mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law and aunt.

Before her demise, Lady Professor Justina Nneka Okoye served as a Sub-dean, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Head of Department, Modern European Languages, Nnamdi Azikiwe University. She was instrumental to bringing the Chinese Confucius Center to Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The Late Professor Okoye was elevated to a Noble Knight of Knight of Saint John International, KSJI, where she served as Corresponding Secretary of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor Commandry (Laux 363) Awka, Respected President, Queen of all Angels (Laux 559), Agulu, Commandry. She played a major role in the institution of the Queen of all Angels (Laux 559) Agulu Commandry. The late Lady Justina Okoye was also appointed the Past Grand-respected President of Awka Grand Commandry (Laux-KSJI), and was elevated to the rank of Noble Knight.

During her life, Mummy received for award for outstanding leadership by Women in Colleges of Education (WICE), Anambra State Branch. She was given an Award of Excellence and Service to Humanity by Women in Colleges of Education, South-East Zone. She received an Award of Excellence, “MIRROR OF KNOWLEDGE”, presented by Saint Monica’s Catholic Church, Amorji Agulu women organization. Mummy received a meritorious service award as “NNEOMA AGULU” by Agulu People’s Union (APU), Women’s Wing, in recognition of her contributions and service to the growth of Agulu town. Mummy received many other awards of excellence for her contributions to educational growth in Anambra State and her leadership role in the church.

Mummy was a great woman both inside and outside of her home. She was married to Sir Anthony Okoye. Her commitment to her marriage was unwavering and exemplary. Tina sacrificed herself to ensure that her sick husband was well taken care of, and died in the process. She starved to ensure that her family was satisfied. Mummy gave up all that she had to ensure that all her kids never derailed from the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just like Christ, the Good Shepherd, mummy prayed day and night to God for the salvation of her own soul and sanctification of every of her children. She was a great mother, a woman of faith, a symbol of love, an agent of peace and an icon of hope.

Lady Professor Justina Nneka Okoye, Nee Ezeani, is survived by her husband, Sir Tony O. Okoye (Chukwukadibia). Her children including Professor Anthony C. Okoye, Justina Chinwe Okoye, Henry Chinedu Okoye and Professor Chuka Albert Okoye, her brother, Henry Nwachukwu Ezeani (Ajokwu na ama nti ula), Sister, Angelina Onyiuke, and so many cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
