The Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe has charged civil servants in the state to brace for the challenges of assisting the Soludo administration to achieve set goals in the state, which require a transition from analogue to digital services.

Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that Barrister Igwegbe gave the charge at the continuation of a familiarization tour of various ministries in the state, during which she announced plans to ensure that civil servants in the state get laptops at subsidized rates to enable them embrace ICT and be at par with other civil servants outside the state.

During the tour, Barrister Igwegbe visited the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Housing Development, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, and Ministry of Transportation.

Addressing the state civil servants, the Head of Service stated that the Soludo administration is technologically driven, desirous of working with civil servants to achieve set goals, and as such requires workers to upgrade their ICT knowledge and skills.

She re-echoed the call on workers to pursue higher productivity in service, reminding them that there is a reward for quality services as contained in civil service rules.

In their separate responses, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Dr Emenike Ezinando, Director of Operations and Services, Ministry of Housing Development, Mr Edison Obianyor, Acting Director, Information, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Anthony Nweke, Acting Director of Tourism, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Mr Emma Umeokana, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Dr Emma Ude Akpeh, while calling for attention to challenges facing workers, thanked the Head of Service for having the welfare of fellow workers at heart, and promised to give necessary supports to enable the present administration achieve set goals for the development of the state.

The Head of Service, Barrister Igwegbe, kicked off the familiarization tour with visits to Ministries of Trade and Commerce, Finance, Health and Environment.
