Ogidi community in Idemili North Local Government Area recently went agog as Our Lady of Assumption High School, built by a philanthropist, Chief Kenneth Nwabueze was dedicated by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province Most Reverend Valerian Okeke.

The event, which started with a holy mass, attracted the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi, 1gwe Alex Onyido among others.

In his homily, Archbishop Okeke, admonished Christians to take the right decisions and usher in new beginning in their lives.

Archbishop Okeke emphasized the need for the people to be impartial in their judgment and thanked the benefactor, Chief Nwabueze for completing the project praying for God s blessings upon his household.

Speaking to the ABS, Chief Nwabueze, said that the gesture was to illustrate his passion for promoting academic excellence in the state, as well as contributing his quota towards education development in Ogidi community.

In his remark the Traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Onyido appreciated the Archbishop for shepherding the flock and described the donor, as a worthy son of the community.

In their separate comments, the Parish Priest and Manager of the school, Reverend Father Alloyius Agba and Principal, Mr Emma Obiora, who said his joy knew no bounds, described the benefactor as an education-friendly philanthropist, whose disposition in uplifting education and assisting humanity has remained unparalleled, encouraging him to sustain the tempo.

Highpoints of the event were handing over of keys as well as thanksgiving by Chief Nwabueze’s family.
