A chieftain of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr Anthony Ezekwugo, has call on youths to rise to the challenge of building a greater and more livable society through being actively involved in electioneering process.
Dr Ezekwugo made the call while discussing the topic, “Encouraging Young People to seek for elective and political positions” on ABS flagship programs, Good Morning Anambra and Nzuko Anambra respectively.
Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha reports that Chief Ezekwugo, who maintained that power is been taken and not given said that the best way to confront the leadership challenge facing the country is by the right-thinking young people taking the stage.
While calling on the youths to equip themselves with the relevant leadership skills to enable them to perform when the opportunity provides itself, Dr Ezekwugo commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for giving the youths the opportunity to serve in his cabinet noting that such development also empowers them.
He emphasized the need for political parties to give the youths a level playing ground by making the cost of contesting for an elective position affordable.
The CEO Catch Them Young Community Initiative, Mr. Nonso Orakwe and Mr. Okechukwu Okolo, who were guests at the programs also believed that the right time to change the narrative and build a greater society has come.
They also noted that youths constitute greater percentage of the nation’s population and as such, should be at the helm of affairs in other to create a more livable society.
