Christ Deliverance Evangelical Mission, CDEM, Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area, has organized service of songs in honour of the late Mummy Bessie Ayaego Okonkwo, who slept in the lord on the seventeenth day of March, 2022.

The late mummy Okonkwo was the wife of the General Superintendent of Christ Deliverance Evangelical Mission, Mgbakwu, Pastor Aloysius Okonkwo.

The event, held at the church auditorium, Amaezike Village, Mgbakwu, was a moment of sober reflection and thanksgiving to God for a life well spent by the deceased, with members and nonmembers of Christ Deliverance Evangelical Mission from across Anambra State and beyond in attendance.

The late Mummy Okonkwo, who died at the age of sixty-two, was until her demise the mother of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Government House Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo.

In a sermon during the event, Pastor Francis Uzoukwu reminded Christians of the need to be heavenly minded at all times, as the earth is not their permanent abode, regretting that many Christians are distracted by the things of the world, which according to him, are temporal.

Pastor Uzoukwu while expressing delight on the exemplary life lived by the late Mummy Okonkwo, urged Christians to always live lives that will win souls for God.

In separate testimonies about the life of the Late Mummy Okonkwo, members of Christ Deliverance Evangelical Mission, as well as the first daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Blessing Nwafor described the deceased as an epitome of love, humility, and a virtuous woman, whose exemplary life positively impacted lives, and led many to Christ, promising to maintain her legacies.

Another service of songs will also be held in her honour at her country home, Enugu Village, Ugbenu, Awka North Local Government Area, next Thursday, April twenty-one 2022, while her remains will be committed to mother earth, on Friday, April twenty-two.
