In her bid to make quality primary education accessible to the indigent children , a one-time Commissioner for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs in Anambra State Lady Henrietta Agbata has inaugurated a Trust Fund for Pine Crest School Agu-Awka to give back to the society.

Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that the school aims at providing quality education to the indigent children at little or no cost, according to the proprietress, Lady Henrietta who said being an educationist she decided to give back to society by starting the school to ensure quality education for the indigent children especially those whose parent can’t afford it and often send to the street to hawk or trade.

The former Commissioner for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs  Lady Henrietta commended the Anambra Broadcasting Service for its series of programmes aimed at enlightening the public on the need for quality education, called on affluent individuals  to assist indigent pupils to acquire quality education to secure a bright future for them.

In his remark at the event, Professor Anthony Agbata, who is the husband of the school Proprietress emphasized that quality education is important for the holistic development of a child and has decided to support his wife in her endeavour to give back to society through education.

He urged the government to give education and other amenities that support quality living, its deserved attention and to fight unbridled corruption in governance.

In  same vein, the Proprietress of Jephthah International School, Pastor Edith Chukwuogo noted that it is important to give children quality education through sound morals and knowledge, teaching, without compromise, as such should not be out of reach for the indigent children , hence the support for Lady Henrietta Agbata.

Others who spoke at the event including, Mr Patrick Illodigwe a guest and Mrs Chisom Ezeumudo, the Headmistress of the school, said quality education is indispensable, and the need to support such endeavours is also important.

The event featured performances by the pupils of the school and a band musical performance.
