In line with the directive of Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for on-the-spot assessment of Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has visited the operational base of the agency in Awka.
While interacting with staff of the agency, the Deputy governor explained that the visit was in accordance with the governor’s directive to ascertain the challenges hindering effective evacuation of refuse from the streets of the state, in order to proffer solution.
Dr. Ibezim after ascertaining challenges hindering effective operation from staff of the agency, assured the workers of government readiness to better their condition by looking into their unpaid wages, maintenance of waste evacuation vehicles and their general welfare.
In his reaction, the Managing Director of the Agency, Mr. Amaechi Akaora expressed the willingness of the agency to collaborate with the committee led by Deputy Governor Ibezim to ensure sustainability of the new structure put on ground.
