Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Honourable Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne has in continuation of his familiarization tour of council areas, visited Onitsha North and South Local government Areas.
Correspondent Njideka Okoye reports that Commissioner Nwabunwanne was accompanied on the visit by the chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Sir Peter Egenti, his Secretary, Barrister Stan Nwattah, Secretary Local Government Pension Board, Mrs. Gloria Obiora-Ibezim, NULGE President, Comrade Adigwe Chikwelu and Chief Mike Ikechukwu.
On arrival at Onitsha South Council Area, Honourable Nwabunwanne was received with a solidarity song by the staff and management of the council.

Commissioner Nwabunwanne reassured them that Professor Soludo led administration is committed to returning to the local government system, all that belong to them including Allocation, IGR, payment roll, promotion, among others, advising them to be dedicated and give their maximum support.
Also speaking, Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Sir Peter thanked God that finally, the solution to their problems has come and charged staff to have a change of attitude to work.
Contributing, Comrade Chikwelu, Mrs. Obiora-Ibezim and Barrister Nwattah affirmed that the Commissioner is ready to work with Governor Soludo to bring total transformation in the local government system, urging them to support the present administration in actualizing new Anambra State.
In their separate remarks, the Head of service, Onitsha South Council Area Mr. Linus Iwuchukwu and his Onitsha North counterpart, Mrs. Edith Enuka expressed happiness over the good packages the administration of Governor Soludo has for them and thanked the commissioner for the visit, describing it as the first time a local government commissioner had face to face interaction with his staff promising their unalloyed support.
