Stakeholders of Igbo extraction have continued to call on Nigerians to allow the South-East geopolitical zone to produce the President in the 2023general elections in the interest of equity, peace and unity.
Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha who sampled the opinions of some Igbo stakeholders maintained that different groups and individuals from Igbo extraction and beyond have a strong belief that the 2023 general election is time for the South-East to produce the next president of Nigeria.
For Senator Victor Umeh the former National Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Ndigbo have competent and capable people that can lead the country to greatness.
He urged Nigerians to give Ndigbo a chance and see the difference they will make in solving the problems confronting the nation which includes, economic instability, security challenges, among others.
The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Anambra State Prince Emeka Udodeme and another stakeholder, Chief Chikwe Udensi who hails from Abia State maintained that it is just for other regions to support Igbo presidency as Ndigbo have remained instrumental to the growth and development of Nigeria.
They however advised that Ndigbo should resolve and speak with one voice to that effect noting that individual interest and disunity will not favour the campaign for Igbo presidency in 2023.
For Chief ThankGod Ibeh and Dr Anthony Ezekwugo, Ndigbo have been known for excellent performances at all levels and called on all the political parties to choose their candidate from the South-East to help in curbing agitations which will also bring to the barest minimum the security challenges facing the country.
