The Commissioner for Health in Anambra State Dr Afam Obidike has charged management and staff of General Hospitals across the State to be responsive in their services.

 

Dr. Obidike gave the charge when he visited Enugwu-Ukwu, Nimo and Nri General Hospitals, both in Njikoka and Anaocha Local Government Areas.

Health Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye was there and reports that at Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, Dr. Obidike urged the staff and management of the hospital to be responsive in-service delivery and key into the health vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, as according to him, the governor is so passionate about the health needs of Ndi Anambra.

 

The Health Commissioner who expressed dissatisfaction with what he saw at the Nimo General Hospital, regretted that the facilities in the hospital are being underutilized, even as the staff of the hospital were nowhere to be found.

Dr. Obidike however praised the management and staff of Nri General Hospital for being dedicated to duty, which he said is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s policy of ensuring that Ndi Anambra get value for their money at all times.

 

The Principal Education Officer, Anambra State Ministry of Health, Mrs Nwamaka Arinze urged health workers in the State to show more dedication to their job in order to ensure that Ndi Anambra receive quality and affordable health services.

Responding Dr. Uchenna Okeke from Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital who thanked the commissioner for the visit, re-assured of enhanced service delivery.

 

The Commissioner told the ABS that the visit will be a continuous exercise.
