The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development and Empowerment, Honourable Patrick Aghamba, says any youth who is not law-abiding is heading for destruction.

Commissioner Aghamba, who stated this at a social forum held in Awka recently, also noted that eighty per cent of Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration’s agenda is centered on youth development.

He explained that there is a serious gap between government, parents and the youths which needed to be closed in order to address restiveness in Anambra and Nigeria in general.

Honourable Aghamba also called on various community leaders to draw youths of their communities closer and assist in guiding them to become better future leaders.

For the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr Nelson Omenugha, the reason for the growing unrest in some places is as a result of joblessness and failure to engage the youths meaningfully.

He called on community leaders to begin to engage the youths, noting that empowerment programmes must be well structured in order to be sustainable.
