A forty-nine-year-old woman, Mrs Caroline Enwenye is seeking help from the government, good-spirited individuals and groups to manage her long-term battle with kidney disease.

 

According to Mrs Enwenye, who hails from Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area, the disease was discovered late after she was referred for diagnosis following issues with her stomach, and was told by the Medical doctor that her two kidneys were malfunctioning.

 

She said that since then, she has been going to hospital in Onitsha, to run dialysis twice a week, with each of the dialysis session costing between seventy to hundred thousand naira.

 

Mrs Enwenye, said she is a civil servant but all her earnings have been spent on treatments for the disease, leaving her with nothing to continue life and maintained that she needs support from the government, individuals and groups, to help her change the damaged kidneys.
