The State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Sir Nobert Obi has urged the political class to avoid acts capable of creating unnecessary tension in the polity ahead of the 2023 General Elections. Speaking in Awka, Sir Nobert said winning elections should not be seen as do or die affair.

Sir Nobert expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the Party’s primary elections which produced APGA flag-bearers at various categories of the general elections and attributed the success to the Party’s strict adherence to its constitution and provisions of the Electoral Act and guidelines.

He called on those who lost in the exercise to accept the outcome with spirit of sportsmanship and support those elected to win the coming elections while those who scaled through should extend hands of fellowship to others to maintain a united front and go to the election as a family.

Sir Nobert expressed confidence that the party has bright prospects in the coming elections because of the culture of good governance entrenched by the APGA administrations over the years, noting that the Party’s representatives at the state and National Assemblies would support Governor Chukwuma Soludo to achieve his vision for the state and the Southeast zone.

He enjoined members of the party and other stakeholders to mobilze people in their areas to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards to equip themselves properly for the elections.

Also speaking, a community leader Chief Francis Ibekwe, urged INEC to increase tempo of sensitization on procedures to register and collect PVCs as well as provide adequate logistics and manpower to make the exercise seamless.
