Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed deep sadness and sense of loss over the death of foremost Nigerian Military Officer and former Chief of Staff of the defunct Biafran Army, General Alexander Madiebo.

 

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Christian Aburime said that General Madiebo died on Friday, June three, 2022, at the age of ninety.

 

In his condolence message, Governor Soludo regretted that the late General Madiebo died at a time his wise counsel was needed in moving the state ahead but expressed gratitude to God that he lived a worthy life and died at a very advanced age.

 

According to the condolence message, the governor, on behalf of his family, the government and good people of Anambra State, expressed sincere condolence on the passage of General Madiebo, whom he described as a great patriot, courageous soldier and officer gentleman.

 

The release quoted the governor as saying that General Madiebo contributions to nation building and development of his immediate environment, remained strong reference points in patriotism and nationalism as he placed his life on the line in protecting his people when it mattered most.

 

While praying that the good Lord will grant his noble soul eternal rest, Governor Soludo, who asked his immediate family and other relations to bear the loss with fortitude knowing that he led a worthy life, said that he will surely miss his wise counsel and exemplary life of service to fatherland.
