Anambra Police Command has killed one kidnap suspect arrested five others and rescued four victims

 

 

 

Speaking to the press on behalf of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP, Echeng Echeng, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the victims were between the age bracket of forty to sixty years.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr Ikenga disclosed that following distress calls from Oko and Ekwulobia communities yesterday, the Anambra Police Operatives in collaboration with Vigilant service officials, swung into action and arrested one Emeka Amobi who was suspected of complicity in the crime.

 

 

 

He said upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and led the Operatives to the gang hideout where the detectives engaged the gangsters in a shootout.

 

 

 

According to the PPRO the gang leader, one Chinedu Ajogu, was gunned down and five others including their native doctor were arrested for further interrogation and prosecution.

 

 

 

He said the items recovered from the suspects include one SMG rifle, one Beretta pistol, two locally made revolver pistols, one dagger, one Biafra flag, two pairs of ESN uniforms as well as one Acura SUV snatched from a Reverend Father in Awgbu last month among others items.
