An Industrialist, Dr Godwin Okafor has described the private sector as a major employer of Labour that needs Government support and patronage.
Speaking in his office at the Agu Awka Industrial layout when the executive members of the Radio, Television and Theatre Arts workers union RATTAWU chapter of the Anambra Broadcasting service ABS, visited him Dr Okafor said that the government and the people should support indigenous firms by patronizing Made in Nigeria Products.
He described Made in Nigeria Products as best in quality when compared to those being imported into the country.
Dr Okafor who is a one-time president of Foam manufacturers Association of Nigeria, regretted the influx of fake Products in Nigeria and called on the Standards Organization of Nigeria SON to step up action towards checking the ugly trend.
He urged the Federal Government to look into the issue of multiple taxation on manufacturers, adding that the government should seek ways of granting new Industries a tax holiday of at least five years for sustainability.
Dr Okafor who is a community leader in Isuofia Aguata Local Government Area, while congratulating Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his first hundred days in office, commended him for having a different approach to Governance.
He expressed his willingness to partner the Radio Television and Theatre Arts workers Union RATTAWU of the Anambra Broadcasting service to achieve their aim.
Earlier the leader of the delegation, and Chairman of the ABS chapter of the union Prince Ebere Ugonna who thanked Dr Okafor for his warm reception to them said that the purpose of the visit was to seek his partnership with the group.
Among those present were the Vice Chairman of the union Chidinma Oranwa, Auditor Sandra Akpa, Oluchi Kalu Emeka, and Afam Obidike
