The Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr. Chido Obidiegwu has called on individuals and groups in the state to partner Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration in bringing solution to various challenges facing the state, rather than being part of the problems.

 

The ABS MD made the call when executive members of Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter paid him a visit in his office in Awka.

Mr. Obidiegwu, who described the Soludo administration as government of solution, harped on the need for all residents of the state to assist the government in achieving its objective of transforming Anambra into the best state in the country, pointing out that the government cannot achieve set objectives without the support of the citizenry.

 

He called on residents of the state to endeavour to report any suspicious movement or activity around their vicinities to security agencies in order to facilitate actualization of adequate security in the state as targeted by the present government.

 

Mr. Obidiegwu assured members of Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria of ABS support and partnership, as according to him, objectives of the association are in line with that of the state government.

In her remark, the state chairman of the association, Mrs. Ify Obi explained that the association is the only national body that brings communication scholars and professionals in the field together, with the aim of supporting the process of shaping communication scholarship, training and practice in Nigeria.

 

She congratulated the ABS MD on his appointment and solicited for the station’s support in their various activities, especially in their forthcoming seminar scheduled to hold in Awka on the twenty-first of this month, with the theme, “Stemming the tide of insecurity in Nigeria: Role of the media”.

 

In a vote of thanks, a member of the association, Comrade Chinedu Ekweonu, while appreciating the ABS boss for the warm reception, described Mr. Obidiegwu as a round peg in a round hole, and expressed hope that ABS will wax stronger under his leadership.
