The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development have commenced training for twenty-one Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers for the Federal Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme.

 

The trainees, who are from the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State are expected to give orientation and enroll poor and vulnerable people through a digital process to benefit from government credit under the National Social Investment Programme.

Speaking during the training held at the National Orientation Agency, NOA, office in Awka, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Mrs. Sadiya Farouq noted that the digitalized training is simultaneously taking place in the six Geo-Political Zones of the country to make the process less cumbersome and for easy implementation.

 

Represented by Mr. Sule Chogudo from the ministry, Mrs. Farouq also emphasized that those enrolled will be properly verified and urged the trainees to double their efforts to ensure results.

The state Director of NOA, Barrister Charles Nwoji in his remarks explained that the challenges encountered in the field during the first phase was taken into cognizance to ensure success in the second and subsequent phases.

 

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr. Peter Onuigbo, who is in charge of Anyamelum and Mrs. Ifeoma Umeh in charge of Awka-South, said the training has added value and will help them do their work better.
