Anambra State Government says it has effectively engaged members and Leaders of transport unions about enumeration.

 

The Commissioner for Transport Mrs Patricia Igwebuike who disclosed this during a press briefing on the new tax reform in Anambra State said that the enumeration will help the government ascertain the actual number of tricycle operators, shuttle and buses in Anambra State.

 

According to the Commissioner for Transport the enumeration will go a long way in achieving progress in the ongoing move to transform Anambra State by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

 

She called on Ndi Anambra to see the new tax reform as part of efforts by the present administration towards achieving a liveable homeland in Anambra State.

 

Mrs Igwebuike a lawyer who said that Governor Soludo has acted in good faith with the new tax reform in the transport sector having ordered that all tax payments should stop for four months when he assumed office in March.

 

According to the Commissioner for Transport, the government will engage the services of administrators that will manage various parks, saying that the government will pay the administrators with taxpayers money.

 

She said that the government has no bad intention in taking the data of tricycle, shuttle and buses adding that the purpose is for enhanced security of life and property of the citizenry.

 

Mrs Igwebuike urged the people to always support and cooperate with the present administration in Anambra State through prompt payment of tax and levies to enable the government serve them better.
