Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been commended for launching the state on course of digital economy.

Speaking in Awka, an APGA Chieftain, Chief Jude Emecheta said it would accelerate overall development of the state.

 

Chief Emecheta noted that creating a digital structure to drive tax administration and revenue collection would entrench transparency and accountability and encourage more people to pay their taxes and levies regularly and promptly.

 

He said it would also eliminate diversion of government revenue to private pockets and enable government generate funds to carry out its responsibilities to the people as well as promote ease of doing business which would attract more investors and businesses to the state.

 

According to Chief Emecheta, verification and enumeration of commercial vehicle operators and traders would enable the state government maintain effective data base that would further fortify state security infrastructure as well as give drivers and traders sense of responsibility to take ownership of their activities to curb excesses.

 

He said this would also end the menace of touting and nuisance in motor parks and promote sanity on roads while transporters would have better environment to generate more income.

 

A Youth leader Chief Oguguo Nnemelu said stakeholders should give total support to Governor Soludo’s drive to secure the state and introduce a new social order, urging privileged individuals in various parts of the state to support the Governor’s efforts to elevate the state to a pride of place by encouraging and empowering youths to acquire skills to be productive and self-reliant and discourage them from crime and social vices.
