Anambra State Government has called on builders and developers to obey the new housing policy to avoid their projects being demolished.

 

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Honourable Polly Onyeka made the call while inspecting the pace of work at the Awka Millennium City project site, Agu Awka.

Awka Millennium City has different zones of A, B and C, residential and commercial areas with over sixteen point four kilometers of roads that are at the completion stage.

 

Areas inspected by Commissioner Onyeka, accompanied by a team of Builders, Architects and Surveyors were AMC construction yard, paver factory, water utility section, water treatment room, flower nursery section, residential buildings under construction, drainage channels, prototype building among others.

Speaking after the inspection, Commissioner Onyeka expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of works at the site, which he said, is one hundred percent in line with the new housing policy.

 

The Commissioner advised Ndi Anambra, developers and construction companies to take a clue from the standard of works at the mega city to ensure good quality even as he commended the managing Director, Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA, Dr. Ifediora Amobi and the project manager, Mr. Inna Nnoruo for their commitment.

Also speaking, Dr. Amobi said he was impressed with the level and standard of work at the estate, adding that Anambra State Government has mapped out the project as one of the prides of what ANSIPPA brought to the state.

 

For Mr. Nnoruo, the mega city will be livable by the middle of next year.
