Herbal medicine practitioners in Anambra State have been advised to approach the desk officers in the headquarters of their various Local Government Areas for their Bio-Data Registration and Operational License.
This call was made when Anambra State Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice Office, Government House Awka organized a sensitization and awareness campaign for the registration exercise in Awka.
The awareness campaign took the staff of the office through strategic roads and junctions in Awka including Aroma Junction, Zik Avenue, Eke Awka and Amawbia axis for effective dissemination of information.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the exercise, the Chairman of the State Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice Board, Dr Flora Ilonzo noted that herbal practice is the same everywhere both in the Peoples Republic of China and other developed countries and as such those in the State should avail themselves the opportunity and get registered which will help locate them easily from any part of the world.
The Executive Director, Anambra State Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practice, Dr Daniel Ejim noted that the aim of the campaign is to support the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo towards ensuring a secure State and for easy identification.
A practitioner, Mrs Winnie Arinze called on government to support the practice through its standardization while urging her colleagues to embrace the registration exercise.
On her part, Mrs Chinwe Udommadu explained that through the bio-data, they can be easily identified.
