A residence Priest at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ifite-Awka, Reverend Father Daniel Eduzor has challenged Christians to spend their time on earth wisely.
Reverend Father Eduzor stated this in a homily while celebrating yesterday mass which was the last Sunday in the month of July, 2022.
He noted that they should treasure most that which will earn them eternal life as all things and wealth acquired in life remains on earth and when they are not properly gained, such person will face death and remain in hell forever.
Reverend Father Eduzor told the parishioners that their time is their life and as such, make good use of it and live righteous life while keeping the commandment of God which is the basis of their faith and when applied in their life journey, they will be children of God.
At Saint Joseph’s Anglican Church, Agu-Awka, GRA, the priest in residence, Reverend Sunday Okonkwo says as children of God, it is expected that the spirit direct their lives so as not to satisfy the desires of human nature.
Reverend Okonkwo whose sermon centered on ‘Redemption is of God’ said that the redemption work done by God through Christ is perfect because he has reconciled them to become one with God asking the church to shun sin and run away from any act that will lead them to death.
He asked the church to make a strong decision on how to live and die for Christ even as he encouraged them to walk in the spirit as he said that journey of life needs maintenance which is persistent prayers, meditation and studying the word of God.
Also, at Christ Holy Church International, Awka Number One, the assistant priest, Reverend Augustine Ogbodo encouraged Christians to persevere in the face of difficulties as God must surely intervene and give solutions to their problems.
Reverend Ogbodo who spoke on ‘Be patient and stand firm in the Lord’ lamented that many have gone astray as a result of impatience reminding them that whoever that follows Christ must have patience even as he told them that waiting upon the Lord is not a time wasted for at the appointed time, he will answer all petitions.
Religion correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that prayers to usher in the month of August 2022 were offered while thanksgiving climaxed the mass and services.
