The final burial rites of late Chief Christian Okolo Mmaduka have been completed at his family compound, Umuzocha Village, Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra state.

 

The Late Chief Mmaduka popularly known as Ezeugo who died at the age of one hundred and thirteen, before his death was the oldest person in Amachala n’ato Awka and Ifite Awka.

He was also the oldest Ajalija title holder in Awka before his death.

 

The late Chief Mmaduka died on 4th October 2021 and was buried on 8th October, 2021 according to his wishes.

Some of his friends, relations, in-laws and well-wishers from all walks of life who spoke to the ABS on the life of the Late Chief Mmaduka, eulogized him as a man who lived a worthy life on earth.

 

His grandson, Mr Ikechukwu Mmaduka described his grandfather as an icon, a loving father, a peace maker and said that he lived a saintly life while on earth.

The Vice Chairman, Umuzocha Development Union, UDU, Mr Uchendu Anayo said the late Okolo Mmaduka was an epitome of love, full of wisdom, humility, and was industrious and he prayed God to accept his soul.

 

Earlier in a sermon during the burial service, An Anglican Priest, Reverend Eleazar Okere of Holy Trinity Church Awka, explained that the best life one can live is the life of impact and blessing to people around, and described the Late Chief Mmaduka as one who through his journey on earth lived a life worthy of emulation.

 

Immediate family members, relations, in-laws and well-wishers used the occasion to pay condolences to the deceased’s family.
