The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike has reiterated the call on Ndi Anambra to give adequate support to the state government in the ongoing statewide free distribution of insecticide-treated nets.

 

Dr Obidike made the call while addressing a cross section of journalists during a media orientation on the nets distribution campaign in Awka.

 

The distribution of the insecticide-treated nets to households in the state began on Sunday and is expected to last till August seventeen, 2022.

 

The Health Commissioner, represented by the Head of Department of Public Health and Disease Control in the ministry, Dr Afam Anaeme explained that the campaign cannot succeed if the exercise does not receive maximum support from community leaders and residents of the state.

 

Dr Obidike pleaded with those, who have received their insecticide-treated nets to ensure that they mount and sleep inside the nets as it is one of the most potent and cheapest ways of protecting people from Malaria.
