The President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU, Chief Titus Akpudo has called on Ndi Anambra in the diaspora to bring some fraction of their Investment home.
Speaking on ABS Radio Programme Tonimas Half hour in Awka, Chief Akpudo maintained that the dream of the present administration to make Anambra State be like Dubai will be achieved with the support and cooperation of the people of the state both at home and in the diaspora.
Chief Akpudo who is also the Deputy President of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Anambra State disclosed that Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU was inaugurated in1996, to ensure unity of purpose among Town union Leaders in addition to bringing effective development at the community level.
He paid glowing tribute to Chief Chimezie Ikeazor of Obosi and Chief Damian Okeke Ogene of Nanka who is the current Vice President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide for laying a strong foundation for the sustenance of ASATU in Anambra State.
Chief Akpudo disclosed that as the president of ASATU he has continued to visit Ndi Anambra in different parts of the country engaging them on discussions aimed at ensuring rapid development in Anambra State.
He Commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for increasing the fund for Community choose your project initiative from Twenty to Twenty-five million Naira which he noted will no doubt bring more robust development across the hinterlands.
Chief Akpudo announced that the Anambra State Association of Town Unions has a committee that always monitor the community choose your project initiative in order to achieve the aim.
Speaking on the need for Nigerians to always patronize Made in Nigeria Products, the President of ASATU said that when Nigerians patronize locally made Products it will go a long way in strengthening the indigenous Industries in addition to boosting the Gross Domestic Product GDP.
Chief Akpudo who described Products made in Nigeria as best in quality and affordable when compared with those manufactured abroad called on the Government to create more favorable environment for the speedy Industrialization of the Nigerian Nation.
He Commended the Tonimas Nigeria limited for its sustained partnership with the Anambra Broadcasting service and for keying into the Anuluono mantra of the Anambra State Government and called on others to emulate them.
