Anambra State Government has called on individuals and organisations to register their events before commencement for proper documentation as well as adequate security preparations to be made.
The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji stated this during the 2022 Face of Jasmine African Magazine and Honorary Awards in Awka.
According to Mr. Onyenji, the state government appreciates the remarkable impacts of the Jasmine African Magazine among the youth and promoting the socio-cultural heritage of South East Nigeria and Africa in general, and assured that the state will continue to support positive programmes for the wellbeing of Ndi Anambra.
The Commissioner reminded the participants at the event of the importance of logging in their events and activities with the state in order to ensure proper security in and around the area and revealed that plans are on top gear to unify opportunities for entertainers, especially comedians and musicians in order to bring them at par with their counterparts in Lagos, wondering why every entertainer must have to go to Lagos before becoming successful.
On her part, the Strategist of the Jasmine African Magazine, Nkem Mbonu explained that they have been able to grow the company into a bigger and better brand that can only be associated with reliability, resilience, and excellence and revealed that any individual who will receive the award recognition must possess the qualities of beauty, intelligence and confidence.
For the Chairman of the event, Sir Mike Okiro, whose address was read through the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng citizens must continue to rewrite the ugly trend of falsehood, especially on the social media to enhance the security and living standards of the people and advised entertainers to increase contents that will promote education.
Receiving an award on behalf of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, her Managing Director, Sir Chido Obidiegwu dedicated it to the hard-working staff of the organization and Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of driving the state in the right direction while another awardee and former Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Elder Chris Eluemunoh asked young people to be ready to learn in order to become better members of the society.
In a welcome address, the Editor of the Magazine, Esther Charles explained that the magazine has been known to be the best entertainment magazine in Africa as its content constantly brings the very best in each edition.
Side attractions such as comedy, dances, musical performances, award presentation and many others were the highpoints of the event.
