Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has promised to collaborate with Academy of Medicine Specialties in the area of medical science technology with some relevant agencies.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Adeleke Mamora, stated this when the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
He said the role of science cannot be overemphasized in national development, as it is the engine room of desired growth and progress of any nation, including Nigeria.
Dr. Mamora, noted that if the Government really wants to achieve the desired growth, it can only be in collaboration with other public sectors stressing that Nigeria is blessed with both human and natural resources but needs to harness them to move the country forward.
The Minister called on stakeholders to key into Nigeria’s Science Technology and Innovation development projects so that the essence of the Science, Technology and Innovation, which is to acquire knowledge, through research, can be realised and potential utilized to enable them manifest to reality.
The Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Henry Ikoh, on his part, said that the importance of research is to look for knowledge since knowledge is power and with the cooperation of the relevant Agencies and the Academy of Medicine Specialties, Nigeria will attain greater heights.
