Anambra State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Honourable Paully Onyeka, has inspected the Anambra Luxury Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka phase one.
Commissioner Onyeka, who was accompanied by a team of builders, architects, surveyors from the ministry, inspected road constructions, drainage channels, buildings under construction, among others, after which he commended the construction company handling the project for following the new Anambra house building policy prospects.
Speaking further, Commissioner Onyeka instructed the construction company to provide flood catchment pits in each compound, warning that no water should be channeled to the road or other people’s land and or compound, in order to control erosion and land degradation.
The Housing Commissioner, who restated that the mantra of the Soludo administration is to build a livable and prosperous smart mega city for Ndi Anambra, advised developers and construction companies to abide by the new building guidelines in the state for the good of all.
He stated that there is a great housing deficit in most states in the country, adding that Anambra is having at least ten thousand housing deficit per year, which is why Governor Chukwuma Soludo is taking the issue of housing seriously.
Commissioner Onyeka however warned that construction work at the estate must never extend to the area already revoked by the state government.
On his part, the Chairman, Engineering Monitoring Regulation, Anambra State, Engineer Victor Meju, commended the company handling the estate project for involving registered engineering company to supervise the project, and called on other developers to emulate them, noting that for a building to have approval, it must go through proper procedure through Physical Planning Board.
He commended Governor Soludo for his good plans in building a livable and prosperous smart mega city for Ndi Anambra.
