President Muhammadu Buhari has asked Nigerians to continue to assist the Military, in its efforts at curbing terrorism and banditry in the country.

 

The President who was speaking at the ongoing Citizens Summit for National Integration, Peace and Security, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, reminded the Citizenry that the task of keeping the country safe is everybody’s business.

Represented on the occasion by the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Muhammed, the President extolled the Nigerian Military for their successes so far in the onslaught against insecurity.

 

He noted that fake news and Misinformation contributed to the escalating insecurity problem, saying they fuel the problem by creating panic amongst the citizenry and putting the country on edge.

Also in their welcome speeches, the National President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo and the Chairman on the occasion, Dr. Dere Awosika, agreed that the summit will assist in no small measures in reducing political and economic imperialism as a country is as strong as its citizens.
