Worried by the increasing health threats caused by wrong living habits and choices, especially in food consumption, wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has appealed to Anambra households to have a better awareness of whatever they consume as food.

Mrs Soludo observed that with many substandard food products scattered across markets, coupled with the proliferation of inorganic food , consumers must be careful with whatever they buy and make quality assessments of each product before consumption.

The governor’s wife who made known her worries given the rising reports of diseases and deaths caused by unhealthy food and lifestyles, especially among pregnant women and children, stated that as a hygiene and healthy living ambassador, she is determined to see an instant change in the worrisome development.

She noted that the human body works in tandem with what it knows, explaining that whatever one puts in their body either takes their health down or improves it.

Mrs Soludo, while asking women to take the current campaign back home and around their neighbourhoods, also called for the revival of organic subsistence farming in order discourage fertilizer-based agriculture.

She explained that her “go full organic” health advocacy concerns both food consumption and farming, pointing out that the majority of the food products sold at the markets fail organic tests, thereby not completely healthy for human consumption.

The governor’s wife further stated that her husband’s administration is making intense efforts to revolutionize agriculture in Anambra State, with the coconut farming revolution already building up.
