The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has flagged off the distribution of palm seedlings to the people of the area at the local government Secretariat, Umunze.

 

 

Prince Uchendu who also supervised the distribution of the palm seedlings in the company of stakeholders in the Council Area, stated that the Governor of the state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in numerous occasions had expressed worry over the dwindling of crude oil proceeds in the country and stressed the need to resurrect the oil through planting of palm seedling

He said that every Local Government Area in the state has received thousands of palm seedlings from the state government, including Orumba South and thanked governor Soludo for his efforts in boosting agricultur

 

Demonstrating through one of the Presidents General, Comrade Evaristus Onwumere of Ezira community who had the knowledge of palm planting, the Local Government Chairman, taught the stakeholders how to plant the palm seedlings and urged them to distribute it fairly and democratically, so that the aim and efforts of the state government would not be defeate

Prince Uchendu reminded them that the palm seedlings, if properly handled while planting, will start yielding fruits in the next four years and noted that the current administration in the state is going back to the drawing board to get things working again for the good of Ndi Anambr
