The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Don Onyenji has appreciated Nibo Community for their efforts in releasing the ten plots of Land donated to the Federal Government for the construction of a cultural center.

 

The Commissioner who gave the commendation when he went on an inspection of the land in company of a team from the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture said that since the land has been carved out necessary documentations will follow.

 

Mr Onyenji said that the cultural center will create job opportunities and attract tourists to the area thereby boosting the economy of the area and commended the team from the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture for their interest in Anambra State and promised to assist them to actualize the project.

 

On her part, the Head of Department of Cultural Industry and Heritage, from the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture who led the team Mrs Rose Kwarsen commended Nibo Community for their resolve to donate the land for the cultural center noting that the project has been approved by the federal government.

 

She said the land will be enough for the center which will have a hall, huts, kitchen, restaurant for African delicacies.

 

She listed some of the skills to be acquired there to include tailoring, hair dress in as well as other skills that will empower Ndi Anambra to become useful and contribute to the economy of the State.

 

The President General of Nibo town Union, Professor Tony Nwokoye was on hand to receive Mr Don Onyenji and team from Abuja.

 

Another staff from the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture Reverend Ben Anama expressed joy that such a project is coming to Anambra State adding that he initiated the idea in 2014 when he was transferred to the Ministry.
