Anambra State Government is to commence enumeration, branding and certification of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders, in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu,who stated this while receiving members of Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka, stressed the need for enumeration, certification and validation of their members to know their numerical strength.
Staff reporter, Njideka Okoye,covered the visit and reports that Commissioner Nwosu noted that the enumeration, branding and certification processes are inline with measures already taken by government to ascertain who is who in a given environment,which he said are very important to the administration of ProfessorChukwuma Soludo, urging them to spread out their membership to all communities in the state for the association to add morevalue.
Sir Paul, who reminded members of the Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association that they are into the business of image making, reminded them that their work is beyond taking pictures and videos in return for money, urging them help security personnel with timely information at all times.
The Information Commissioner stated that government is in the process of reviewing over two hundred laws and introducing new ones, and charged members of the association tobe creative; while doing their work in a responsible manner, in order to bring dignity to their work, which he said haslimitless opportunities.
Earlier in his remark, theChairman of Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association, Comrade Obinna Okonkwo, said that their visit was to familiarize with the Commissioner, brief him on the activities of the association and to discuss possible areas of collaboration, which they believe will build a strong and mutual relationship.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the association, Mr Bonvera Ndubisi, thanked Commissioner Nwosu for hiswarm reception, and commend his open-door leadership.
