Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, will soon formalize its membership as a corporate organization with the African Council for Communication Education, making it the first media outfit in the South East to do so.

 

The Managing Director of the establishment, Sir. Chido Obidiegwu stated this when members of the council paid him a courtesy visit at the ABS corporate headquarters in Awka.

 

Sir. Chido said that membership and partnership with African Council for Communication Education will assist him in achieving the mandate of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo which is to run a professional, profitable and responsible media organization.

 

Assuring them of robust partnership and support in their forthcoming twenty-third International Conference and Annual General Meeting, tagged ‘ACCE UNIZIK’ the Managing Director stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been receiving global commendations for his efforts of building a smart, clean, green and a prosperous homeland.

 

Earlier, the Head Department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Cornelius Ukwueze, said the visit was to congratulate the Managing Director and seek continuous partnership with the establishment and appreciated the existing relationship between the Department of Mass Communication Nnamdi Azikiwe University and ABS.

 

He extolled the Anambra Broadcasting Service for offering wide platforms for some of their graduands who opted for media practice and requested for partnership in hosting the forthcoming African Council for Communication Education, which will bring together communication scholars and practitioners from different parts of the world.

 

Professor Ukwueze maintained that Anambra Broadcasting Service is the first corporate organization to register with the African Council for Communication Education in the South-East Zone.

 

The Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, Dr. Obiorah Edogor, described ABS as one of the best broadcast outfits in South-East and as a member of the African Council for Communication Education, it will add more to the corporate reputation and visibility of the station
