The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji has commended Ndi Idemili South Local government Area for their inauguration of Waste Management Committee from all the wards in the council Area.

 

 

 

The Commissioner made the commendation during the flag off campaign for a clean eco-friendly and a liveable Idemili South at the council’s Secretariat Ojoto.

 

 

 

Comrade Onyenji who expressed optimism that soonthe council area will be the cleanest within the state, noted that he would make out time to go round the various Communities in the council area to ensure total compliance by those with the mandate to clean the areas.

 

 

 

Inaugurating the wards waste management committee, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo who is also the Governors of Chief Protocol Officer, Mr Chinedu Nwoye charged the contractor and his team to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively and efficiently in order to achieves the governor Soludo’s decision of making Anambra a liveable green city and commended the Transition Committee Chairman and her executive for their initiative.

 

 

 

Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman, Mrs Amaka Obi described the environmental sanitation as key for the prevention of diseases and called for all hands to be on deck in order to improve the living standards of the people.

 

 

 

In a speech, the Managing Director of Anambra StateWaste Management AuthorityMr Mike Ozoemena said that they would outlaw open dumping of refuse in the state and encouraged every family to make use of waste bins in their homes for easy evacuation.

 

 

 

The event attracted the AllProgressives Grand Allaiancefaithful and other prominent members of the society.
