The remains of a former Director of Finance of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs. Nneka Ogbuonwu, have been laid to rest at her husband’s compound, Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

 

At her funeral service held at the Anglican Church of the Pentecost Ukpo, the Vicar, Reverend Cannon Uchenna Umeifekwem, reminded the faithful that death is inevitable for all mortals and recognized the role the deceased played in the growth and development of the Church.

According to him the late Mrs Ogbuonwu who was an active member of Women’s Guild and Mother’s Union maintained close relationship with her family and positively impacted many lives

 

After the burial service, her corpse was immediately taken to her husband’s compound for internment, where tributes from sympathizers revealed she was an outstanding woman of truth, disciplined, kind, honesty and humanitarian who promoted and supported church and community development.

ABS Family led by its Managing Director, Sir Chido Obidiegwu who was represented by the Director of News and Current Affairs Department of the establishment, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, trooped out in their numbers and paid their condolences to the deceased family.

 

Sir Chido recognized the outstanding role she played as staff and Director of Finance in the Anambra Broadcasting Service, and urged the family to take solace in God.

On their parts, the deceased husband, Mr. Boniface Ogbuonwu, her children, Mr. Chikelu Ogbuonwu and Mrs Cynthia Ezeudu, described her as one of the strongest and best things that has ever happened to them, saying that her memories, sacrifice and love will remain in them forever, while a Son-in-law, Mr. Arinze Ezeudo, said she was a mother everyone will pray for, praying God to grant her eternal rest.

 

the Late Mrs Nneka Ogbuonwu, Nee Anaeneugwu, is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and in-laws.
