Retirees of the Anambra Broadcasting Service have paid their last respects to a fallen colleague the late Mr. Okechukwu Nwabueze whose remains were laid to rest at his compound at Abatete in Idemili North Local Government Area.

 

Speaking at the funeral service held in his honour, the Parish Priest of Saint Martin’s Catholic Church Nsukwu, Abatete Reverend Father Samuel Uzondu said death is inevitable hence the need for the people to be mindful of the kind of life they live.

He encouraged Christians to live a godly life and stand firm in faith.

 

Speaking to the ABS, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Tochukwu Nwabueze and the first daughter Miss Ebele Nwabueze said their father played a good role in their lives and described him as a man of peace and humility.

They appreciated everyone who came to sympathize with them praying for long life and good health.

 

In their separate speeches two retired staff of the ABS, Chief Patrick Ikedigwe and Mr Peter Onwughalu said the late Mr. Nwabueze was a good colleague and friend who lived a very humble life.

 

They encouraged the children to follow the good steps of their Late father and prayed that they will grow in good health.

The burial ceremony featured condolence visits from members of Catholic Men Organization, members of Udoka Age Grade Nkpor among others.
