The Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese, Right Reverend Paul Udogu, has advised Christians not allow their exalted positions make them loose God’s grace.

 

The Prelate gave the advice at the Anglican Church of Redemption, UNIZIK Temporary Site, Awka, during church service to mark the 30th priestly ordination anniversary of Venerable Cyprian Alokwu.

The church service, was attended by Emeritus Dean, Church of Nigeria and pioneer Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Maxwell Anikwenwa and Archbishop of the Niger Province and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, also featured presentation of a book authored by the celebrant tittled “The Church and Community Development: A New Perspective On Theology and Development Studies”.

 

Bishop Udogu explained that humility, appreciation, not taking God’s grace in vain, and dedication of oneself to God are ways of responding positively to the grace of God.

He described the celebrant as a product of grace, and urged him, as well as Christians in general, not to take God’s grace in vain, regretting that exalted positions often make people to loose God’s grace.

 

The celebrant, Venerable Dr Alokwu, who thanked God for His grace in his life, said the book he authored is part of his contributions to the development of the society, which he said the scripture provides resources for.

Other dignitaries present at the church service include Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, Chairman, Board of Directors of Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, Dr Emma Ezenwaji, friends, well-wishers and parishioners, including Chiefs Obiora Dibiaezue, Edochie Onuorah, Messrs Alex Okeke and John Ifejika.
