The people of Amansea, Ebenebe, Ugbenu, Awba Ofemmili, Umuerum, Omor Communities in Awka North and Ayamelum Local Government Areas have heaved a sigh of relief following the flagging off of the twenty-six kilometers of road which linked them by Governor Chukwuma Soludo over the weekend for construction.
Baring his mind on the development, the Traditional Ruler of Amansea Community, Igwe, Anigbogwu Chukwuma, said that the event was a clear indication that Governor Soludo has remembered them in the scheme of things.
The Royal Father, who said that they were happy that the Governor has come to fulfil his promise, maintained that the road was a death trap before and prayed God to shower Governor Soludo with His peace and abundant love.
For the Traditional Ruler of Awba- Ofemmili, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduagwuna, the journey they started in 2005 when he was the Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area has eventually come to fruition, adding that the people of Awka North and their brothers in Ayamelum Local Government Area have every course to rejoice because of the road flag-off.
The Transition Committee Chairman for Awka North Local Area, Chief Emmanuel Ucheze, described the event as historical as they have been yearning for construction of the road over the Years.
