The Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Chief Livinus Onyenwe has said that the prayer of the people of Ayamelum for the construction of the road that connects them to Awka the state capital in less than ten minutes has been answered by God through Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

 

Speaking to journalists at the Ayamelum Council Secretariat Anaku, Chief Onyenwe commended Governor Soludo for flagging off the construction of the Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Awba-Ofemili-Umuerum-Omor Road, which according to him, has remained impassable for decades especially for the people of the council area.

 

He noted that the road when completed will aid the people of Ayamelum greatly in evacuating their farm produce to Awka and other urban areas, adding that Ayamelum council area being one of the food baskets of the state is naturally endowed to provide solid support to Governor Soludo especially in the agricultural sector.

 

Chief Onyenwe called on the people of Ayamelum to cooperate with the contractor handling the road project by protecting the construction site as well as strict monitoring of the road construction to ensure quality of work.

 

The Ayamelum Council Boss assured Governor Soludo of the support of the people of Ayamelum at all times and urged Ndi Anambra, especially the religious bodies to continue to pray to God to equip Governor Soludo with knowledge and wisdom to be able to carry on with his good governance in the state.
