The Parish Priest, Saint Peter’s Parish Nkwelle Awka, Reverend Father Donatus Esiegbu has said that Nigeria needs true representatives, who will capture hope for its citizens.
Reverend Father Esiegbu, stated this in a homily to mark the last Sunday in September.
The Catholic Priest explained that the country has what it takes in terms of human capacity and mineral resources to alleviate the plight of its citizens, but as a result of bad leadership, hardship and insecurity have continued to ravage its citizens.
He blamed the government for refusing to give priority to education and getting things right, while calling on Christians to deepen their faith and hope in God.
At Saint Mary’s Parish Nkwelle Awka, the priest in charge, Reverend Cannon Sunday Ike, and the Vicar, Saint Joseph’s Church Agu Awka, Reverend Sunday, whose themes were ‘Christians concerns, Care and commitment’, charged Christians to be committed to their services to God.
While the Pastor in charge, Christ Holy Church International, Umuawulu, Senior Evangelist Ositadimma Anosike, reminded the faithful of the need to become friends of Jesus, Prophet Sunday Nweze, who is the General Overseer of Mercy of Christ Deliverance Ministry, Amaenyi Awka, and Pastor in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Divine Eagles Assembly, Awka, Pastor Solomon Olukayode advised Christians to always bear good fruits.
Hymns, praises, prayers and thanksgiving, climaxed the services.
