Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has reassured the commitment of his administration to deliver on its mandate.
Governor Soludo gave the assurance at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka,during a special service, organized by the state government in commemoration of the Nigeria’s sixty-two Independence Celebration, coming up on Saturday, October one, 2022.
Government House Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that Governor Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, expressed confidence that he will not fail Ndi Anambra, but will deliver all campaign promises to the later.
Governor Soludo noted that the present administration is passionate about the sufferings of the masses and is daily making efforts to ensure that the living standard of Ndi Anambra is significantly improved.
He advised residents of the state to be law abiding and support the revolutionary plans of the present administration, that has zero tolerance for violence or any act, capable of truncating its vision.
The governor however, encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope, but to always contribute their quota in the development of the country.
The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, represented by his Deputy, Honourable Pascal Agbodike, expressed hope that Nigeria can still work if its leaders and the led will combine efforts and appropriately play their respective roles.
Earlier in a sermon, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, represented by the Assistant Administration Officer, Venerable Rex Kanu, regretted the height of corruption prevailing in Nigeria and warned leaders at all levels to have a rethink and ensure equitable distribution of democracy dividends to avoid divine wrath.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion were the state Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, Chief of Staff, Mr. Earnest Ezeajughi, Commissioners, Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, among others.
The special service featured renditions by the choir, prayers for Anambra State, Nigeria and leaders at all levels, as well as thanksgiving by Anambra State Government.
