Anambra State government says it will partner the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN to ensure the construction of quality roads and put an end to building collapse in the State.

 

The Commissioner for Works Mr Ifeanyi Okoma stated this when he received members of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria Anambra state chapter who called on him in his office in Awka.

Mr Okoma, an Engineer who expressed worry over the high rate of poor jobs witnessed in the State said the present administration under Governor Chukwuma Soludo is not ready to compromise quality and will put machinery in place to ensure that quacks are not used in the execution of government projects.

 

Mr Okoma called for the training and retraining of Engineers, and charged them to improve on their specialty so that they can compete favourably whenever the need arises.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria in Anambra State Mr Victor Meju, appreciated the Commissioner for the warm reception saying that they came to extend hands of fellowship with the government for a better output.
