Hope has smiled on commuters plying the Nkpor-Umuoji road as Anambra state government has commenced intervention work on the Inland Doors axis of Nkpor-Umuoji road.

The intervention work is being handled by the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA, under the state ministry of Works.

Works Correspondent, Ngozi Obileri reports that when ABS reached the site, several trips of stones had been tipped and leveled while desilting of drainage channels were ongoing, as at the time of this report, more trips of stones were also seen arriving at the site.

In an interview, the officer in charge of ARMA , Engineer Azuka Egwuatu said that Governor Soludo felt so bad when he got the report of what people pass through on the road and directed that the road should be made passable with immediate effect, which was why they mobilized to site even yesterday which was Sunday.

Engineer Egwuatu said that the road is twelve meter in width and explained that they are targeting eight meters on all the failed portions for now so that it can be motorable before they complete the whole width and appealed to the road users to exercise patience since the road will be fixed in no distant time .

Some road users including Messrs Emmanuel Nwankwo and Michael Chielo who regretted the hardship they endured on the road, prayed for abundant blessings upon the Governor and urged him not to relent as they are solidly behind him.
